Loungers – Toro Lounge
Drawing on the town’s hertiage as a cattle market, Loungers – Toro Lounge is named after the Spanish for ‘bull’! Located slap bang in the town centre, with the stunning parish church and Corinium museum close by. With room for 180 Loungers it offers relaxed, welcoming drinking and dining throughout the day and evening.
The building was once an outdoors shop that had an unfortunate accident with some electrics causing a fire, making it the perfect blank canvas. Many original features were kept and some new intereste was introduced, a particular favourite is Derrick, the boar’s head!
The large bar is another great feature and, if you look closely, you’ll spot original ‘Corinium’ symbols, which was the Roman name for the town. In truly Loungers style there are also a few quirky items to spot – the breeze block ceiling is pretty inventive, and see if you can find the ‘interesting’ baby picture (it usually gets a few comments).
The colourful, bright interior is continued outside on our gorgeous terrace and there’s also a ‘hidden’ terrace upstairs if you want to grab some air in a little more privacy.
